Kate Middleton Sends Shockwaves Through Palace with Major Shake-Up

Prince William and Kate Middleton Overhaul Staff in Significant Royal Restructuring

Prince William and Kate Middleton have made a significant decision to shake up their staff, marking a major royal overhaul as Catherine prepares to return to public life with her improving health.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have recruited a new director for their foundation just weeks after the Princess announced her gradual return to work. Sir David John Lewis, who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2021, has been appointed as a trustee at the Royal Foundation by the future King and his wife, according to GB News.

This move by the couple represents a major step forward, following the earlier cancellation of their search for a new CEO for the Royal Household. A Palace spokesperson explained to Richard Eden, "With everything going on, the Royal Household’s focus is on the Princess’s recovery, so no appointment has been made."

Sir David, the former boss of Tesco, will now collaborate with the couple on their charitable initiatives, including campaigns on homelessness, addiction, and Kate Middleton's Early Years development work. The newly created trustee position involves overseeing dozens of staff and is considered revolutionary as it does not fall under the authority of Private Secretaries.

This major decision coincides with speculation about Princess Kate's potential appearance at Wimbledon, with the Palace yet to confirm her attendance at the tennis tournament.
