Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Received Strong Response from Kate and William
Kate Middleton and Prince William were the key figures in the royal family to firmly address the shocking racism claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
For those unaware, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made these allegations during a headline-grabbing Oprah Winfrey interview after they exited the royal family.
The California-based couple claimed that senior royal figures questioned the skin colour of their unborn child, Prince Archie.
In response to the bombshell interview, the royal family released a statement: "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately."
Royal author Robert Jobson, in his new biography of Princess Kate, revealed that "the original draft of the statement was much milder, but both William and Catherine were keen to strengthen it."
Jobson further stated: "It was the then Duchess of Cambridge herself who coined the powerful phrase 'recollections may vary.'"
Regarding Prince William's strong response, Jobson noted: "Her husband also challenged the allegations, telling reporters: 'We are very much not a racist family.'"
It is worth mentioning that since Harry and Meghan's departure from the UK, their differences with the royal family have only deepened due to their controversial actions.
