King Charles III's Plans for Prince Harry Revealed
King Charles III has made a final decision regarding Prince Harry's future with the royal family amid reports that the Duke seeks to make amends with King Charles and Prince William.
The 75-year-old monarch, currently receiving treatment for cancer, has often been the target of Harry's public criticisms. Despite these accusations, the King has largely remained silent. During a visit to the University of East London's Stratford campus, a well-wisher asked the King to "bring back Harry," to which Charles replied, "It would be nice," before quickly moving on.
Prince Harry, who stepped down as a working royal alongside his wife Meghan Markle in 2020, is reportedly not allowed to return to royal duties, according to The Mirror. However, The Times reports that despite their strained relationship, Harry and his father have had several "warm exchanges" since the King's illness was diagnosed. A royal source noted that Charles is keen to reconcile and believes that seeing more of Harry would benefit the monarchy.
Harry, feeling isolated in the US, is reportedly considering a return to Britain. An insider told In Touch Weekly, "Harry’s world is very lonely. He’s in that big house [in Montecito, Calif.] with Meghan, and everything is going wrong. The pressure on him is unbelievable. He might want to return to the royal family, but Meghan won’t want to go with him, and he’s not going to leave his kids."
The insider added that Harry has secretly approached his father and brother about coming home. While William immediately shut down the discussion, Charles is more open to the idea, not wanting to lose his son. However, if Charles passes away, Harry may lose any chance of returning, as his legacy is currently in ruins.
Despite meeting his father earlier this year and expressing a desire for reconciliation, the King has no intention of reinstating Harry as a working royal. Nonetheless, there are speculations that Harry will eventually return to the royal fold, as he has secretly approached the King regarding this matter.
