King Charles Faces Setback as Princess Anne Halts Royal Duties Due to Health Concerns

King Charles's plans for a slimmed-down monarchy face challenges amid health concerns and the temporary withdrawal of Princess Anne from official duties.

Princess Anne, known as the 'most hardworking' royal figure and King Charles's sister, has been advised to pause her royal engagements for the 'foreseeable future' following a serious incident. On June 23, while at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, she sustained 'minor injuries and a concussion' after being struck by a horse.

Princess Anne was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and was discharged on June 28. However, royal commentator Michael Cole revealed that her return to duties might be delayed, emphasizing that recovering from a concussion is not a 'minor matter.'

In an interview with GB News, Cole explained, "This is why she had the five-night stay at Southmead Trauma Centre in Bristol... The princess will not be returning to royal duties for the foreseeable future."

He added that Princess Anne had scheduled visits to Canada and Scotland, but these have been postponed until she is medically cleared.

King Charles is reportedly concerned about his sister's health and the reduced number of active working royals, especially following his and Kate Middleton's recent cancer diagnoses.
