King Charles was left heartbroken after a close royal family member appeared to dismiss his special invitation.
Reportedly, King Charles was eager to gather the royal family at Balmoral this summer for some much-needed relaxation after a challenging start to 2024.
However, an insider has claimed that his beloved niece, Zara Tindall, declined the invitation due to her participation in the Wellington International Horse Trials, scheduled for August 24 to August 26 in Hampshire.
According to a report from Express.co.uk, Zara’s commitment to the competition conflicts with the planned family gathering. A source mentioned, "Charles really wants Zara and the family to join him on the last Sunday in August for the bank holiday service, but understands that her horse competitions are extremely important to her."
The insider added that while the Monarch was hoping to spend quality time with the Tindalls and the rest of the royal family, Princess Anne's daughter has other commitments.
