Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone of their close friend, Tyler Perry, with their daughter Princess Lilibet.
The Hollywood mogul, who is also Princess Lilibet’s godfather, will be honored at the Paley Honors gala in Beverly Hills on December 4. Perry is set to receive the organization's most esteemed award for his contributions to the media industry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are among the event's chairs, are expected to be in attendance along with other luminaries such as Whoopi Goldberg, Gayle King, Taraji P. Henson, George Lucas, and Kerry Washington.
Expressing his gratitude, Perry told The Hollywood Reporter, "Throughout my career, I have strived to bring people together and to give a voice to those often underrepresented in media."
The bond between Harry, Meghan, and Perry dates back to 2018, before the couple's royal wedding. Perry offered support and guidance to Meghan and even extended his Los Angeles residence to the couple during their initial move to America. Later, he gifted them a grand piano as a housewarming present when they moved to Montecito.
Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten, named after her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and her late grandmother Princess Diana, will join her parents in celebrating Perry's remarkable achievement.
