Their Netflix documentary and the interview with Oprah Winfrey also failed to garner favorable public sentiment. Maureen Callahan, a royal commentator, shared her views on GBN America about Meghan's attempts to stay relevant.
“It’s no surprise their support is waning,” Callahan remarked. “It’s not just her popularity that’s declining; it’s also her cultural relevance. A recent photo shows Meghan wearing a $1700 Cartier necklace, which seems out of touch given the current economic concerns in America. People are feeling the pinch, and this display of wealth isn’t resonating well.”
Despite maintaining a low profile with minimal public appearances in recent months, Meghan's strategies to regain the spotlight were also discussed by Callahan.
“She has one arrow left in her quiver if she wants to maintain relevance. Rumors have been circulating about Meghan writing a memoir. There aren’t many options left for her to garner some relevance. The Netflix deal is essentially over, and her new cooking show might not attract many viewers. Writing a scandalous memoir seems like a logical next step.”
A recent poll by Redfield and Wilton, surveying 1,500 Americans, showed that Meghan remains less popular than Princess Kate in the United States. This data highlights the mixed relationship Meghan has with the American public.
