Meghan Markle has firmly decided against accompanying her husband, Prince Harry, to the UK for his upcoming commitments.
The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly unimpressed with Prince Harry's recent announcement regarding his plans in the UK. Meghan has made it clear that she will "never set foot" in Britain again, despite the Invictus Games, an event closely associated with Prince Harry, returning to the country in 2027 for the first time since 2014. Birmingham won the bid to host the Games, prevailing over the US finalist, Washington DC.
Royal commentators Kevin O’Sullivan and Kinsey Schofield have speculated on Meghan's possible next steps and her likelihood of attending the major event with her husband. The fallout between Meghan and the royal family has remained intense since she stepped down as a senior working royal in 2020.
"I predict that Prince Harry will attend but I bet you Meghan does not," Kevin O'Sullivan stated on TalkTV. He added, "I don't think Meghan will set foot in this country ever again."
Kinsey Schofield agreed, saying, "I think that's fair to say. We've seen she had no desire to." She elaborated that Meghan avoided London during a recent trip with Prince Harry, reflecting her strong aversion to the UK, which she believes reciprocates.
Despite these assertions, some commentators suggest that Meghan's attendance is still uncertain, noting her last visit to the UK was for Queen Elizabeth's funeral in 2022. Security concerns for the couple in Britain remain a significant issue.
