Pippa Middleton Makes First Public Appearance Since Kate’s Cancer Diagnosis

Pippa Middleton returned to the public eye after her sister, Princess Kate, announced her cancer diagnosis. Wearing a blue floral jumpsuit by Claire Mischevani, Pippa attended Wimbledon on Friday, marking her first public appearance since the news broke.

The 40-year-old also carried a J.Crew 'Rattan' straw clutch bag, a favorite accessory also owned by Meghan Markle, who was seen with the bag while attending a polo match in 2018.

Pippa's appearance comes just one day before Princess Kate, 42, faces a crucial decision. As the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, Kate's role includes awarding the Wimbledon trophies to champions and runners-up each year. However, her attendance this year remains uncertain due to her ongoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

Earlier this year, Kate stepped back from royal duties following major abdominal surgery and has made only one significant public appearance in 2024, attending Trooping the Colour in June to celebrate King Charles's birthday parade. She is currently awaiting her doctor's advice on whether she is fit enough to attend Wimbledon this weekend as part of her preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Neither Wimbledon nor Kensington Palace are expected to provide an update on Kate's attendance before Saturday. The Palace has confirmed that Kate would not attend the polo match at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor, Berkshire, where Prince William participated alone in a charity match honoring the late Rugby League legend and MND campaigner Rob Burrow.
