Royal Expert Slams Prince Harry for Avoiding Accountability
Prince Harry has come under fire for his alleged tendency to blame others for his actions, with royal commentator Peter Barnes accusing the Duke of Sussex of taking "no accountability."
Barnes' comments followed Harry's appearance in ITV's new documentary "Tabloids On Trial," which aired on Thursday. The royal expert expressed frustration over Harry's narrative during an interview with GB News.
"The thing that really annoys me about Prince Harry is he kind of refuses to take any accountability for his role in all of this situation," Barnes stated. "It always seems to be somebody else's fault. And I find that very problematic in a behavioral way."
Barnes further remarked on the evolving perception of Prince Harry, suggesting that initially, Meghan Markle was believed to be the driving force behind their actions, but now it appears Harry was a willing participant from the start. "I think he's now dealing with the consequences of his actions. And I don't think he knows how to deal with this."
In a preview clip from the documentary, Prince Harry blamed tabloids for exacerbating the rift between him and the royal family, stating, "It's certainly a central piece to it. It is a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press."
Barnes predicted the interview would serve as a means for Harry to justify his past actions, saying, "I think this interview is going to say I might have messed up in court a couple of times, but I've still got a point and it's kind of a saving face interview."
He added, "He looks very sad these days. Don't you think that about him now? I think he looks a bit haunted. I look at him from when he was in the army to look at him now. And I don't see the same person if I'm being brutally honest."
The documentary also covers Harry's legal battle against Mirror Group Newspapers, with the Duke discussing his High Court case.
