Prince Harry Faces Pressure Amid Award Controversy

Prince Harry Faces Pressure Amid Award Controversy

Prince Harry might make a surprising announcement as discontent grows against him.

The Duke of Sussex is encountering significant challenges ahead of receiving a prestigious honor in the US for his services. As he prepares to accept the Pat Tillman Award during a major event in Los Angeles, Harry is said to be under considerable pressure.

Royal expert Michael Cole disclosed that Harry is being advised to reject the award, which is named after an American war hero. Speaking with GB News hosts Nana Akua and Ben Leo, Cole suggested that the Duke should "discreetly" decline the honor. However, he warned of a key complication in this situation.

"If he were taking PR advice from me, he would discreetly and politely decline the award," Cole advised. "Or, he would not attend in person to collect it. But there is a complication, as the host of the evening is Serena Williams, a close friend of Meghan Markle. Whether he can avoid this is uncertain."

Harry is being honored for his work with the Invictus Games, a multi-sport competition for wounded, injured, and sick veterans. However, Cole noted that the backlash over this decision reflects American sentiment towards Harry. "In America, they don’t like what Prince Harry did. They don’t appreciate him disrespecting the late Queen and the royal family. They respected the late Queen very much and see the King as our commander-in-chief as well as the monarch."

Admiral Lord West commented that Harry accepting the award would generate "bad publicity." "I think Harry should be well advised to sit back and not accept awards like this," the Labour peer told the Daily Mail. "It doesn’t sit well with people in the military. And when the mother of the man who died doesn’t want him to receive this award, he should consider that. My advice to him is to refrain from accepting any awards at the moment. They are coming his way because of his high profile, and people want to take advantage of that."

A petition demanding the award decision be reversed has garnered over 70,000 signatures. A source claimed, "The Duke of Sussex might make a surprising announcement to avoid being booed by Americans."
