Thomas Markle has made a heartfelt last-ditch attempt to reconcile with his estranged daughter, Meghan Markle, ahead of his 80th birthday. He expressed his longing for a reunion, saying, "I’ve never been one for birthdays, but the one person I most want to hear from, Meghan, won’t be in touch," he told the Mail.
A source close to Prince Harry revealed that he might be urging Meghan to fulfill her father’s request, believing it could help Thomas enjoy his final years more fully. The source added, "Harry is also eager to mend ties with his own father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, amid their health challenges."
The insider further commented on Meghan’s possible response, noting, "It is uncertain whether Meghan will agree to her father’s plea, as she is known for not easily forgetting or forgiving."
Thomas Markle also made an emotional appeal regarding his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, asking not to deprive them of their royal heritage. "I would love to meet my grandchildren, but I would be happy with a photograph at this stage," he said.
Reflecting on his age, Thomas added, "I never expected to make it to 80 because Markle men never do. My father died at 61."
Despite Thomas's pleas, Meghan has not responded and continues to enjoy life with her family in Montecito.
US royal commentator Hilary Fordwich criticized Meghan for not reaching out to her father, despite her public claims of caring for others. Speaking to GB News, Fordwich highlighted the sad state of affairs and called out Meghan’s "hypocrisy" for showing empathy to others but not her own parent.
GB News host Mark Dolan remarked that Thomas Markle's latest interview could harm Harry and Meghan's public image, as their brand relies heavily on their PR.
