Prince Harry's Close Pal's Unplanned Exit from Invictus Games Foundation

Prince Harry’s close friend and former chief executive of the Invictus Games Foundation, Dominic Reid, has broken his silence following his unexpected departure from the organization.

Reid, who had been part of the foundation for nearly a decade, shared a heartfelt message praising the mission of the Invictus Games and stating that while it had been "an honour" to serve, it was "the right time" for him to step down. "I think now it requires energy and a fresh look to engage it and take it to the next level. I think it's a good time for all of us,” he said.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield discussed the surprising timing of Reid’s exit with Talk TV’s Kevin O'Sullivan, describing it as quite sensational. O'Sullivan noted that Reid’s departure was a significant setback for Prince Harry, especially since Harry is still facing criticism for accepting the Pat Tillman award despite opposition from Tillman’s mother.

Schofield emphasized the importance of Reid’s role, saying, "Dominic was responsible for delivering the games and nurturing The Invictus Spirit and its global impact." She also mentioned Reid's initiatives, including the upcoming Invictus mentor series and the Winter Games, and questioned why Reid chose not to see these projects through to completion.

Schofield further highlighted the challenge now facing Harry and the Invictus Games Foundation in finding a replacement as dedicated as Reid. "We’re not hearing that somebody’s ready to jump in, and usually, when you’re in a large position like CEO, it surprises me that they wouldn’t have someone ready to announce as a successor."

She pointed out that the absence of an immediate replacement was not a good look for the Invictus team. "If you were to give an advance notice, they would have somebody ready to announce on the tail end of this. ‘Congratulations to the new person that we've put in charge of this,’ would make this story go away immediately. But that person doesn't exist yet, and that's not a good look for the Invictus team.”
