Prince Harry’s recent announcement has reportedly left Meghan Markle unimpressed and in a challenging position. The Duke of Sussex revealed that the Invictus Games will be held in Birmingham, UK, in 2027, a decision that has created complications for the Duchess of Sussex due to security concerns.
Meghan, who has previously indicated reluctance to return to the UK after their exit from the royal family, is expected to miss this major event. There were claims that she preferred Harry to hold the games in New York instead. However, Harry announced, "Congratulations to Birmingham, UK, on winning the bid to host the Invictus Games 2027."
US commentator Lee Cohen, speaking to GBN America, suggested that Meghan will likely make an excuse not to attend, leaving Harry to return to the UK alone. Cohen noted, "From all of the accounts that I've read, Harry will be coming solo without Meghan."
Referencing reports from The Telegraph, Cohen criticized Meghan for citing "security concerns" as a reason for not attending. He remarked, "Meghan made the excuse, as she often has, that she would be skipping due to security concerns."
Host Nana Akua also commented, questioning Meghan's concerns: "Security concerns? She's living in the United States, where people bear arms all the time. We saw what almost happened to Donald Trump, and thank goodness he's still with us. People can't willfully carry guns in this country. It doesn't work like that."
Despite the current controversy, Meghan is expected to attend the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada.
