Charles Spencer, the uncle of Prince Harry and brother of the late Princess Diana, has shared the heartrending news of the loss of his beloved Labrador, Otis.
Posting on Instagram this Saturday, Spencer revealed a touching tribute alongside a picture of Otis. "Farewell to Otis, our wonderful Labrador, who had to be put to sleep last night. He was nearly 13," he wrote.
Spencer, who made a notable appearance at Prince Harry's London event in May, despite the absence of other royal family members, reflected on Otis's cherished life at Althorp House, the Spencer family estate. "Otis will now join his father, Karoo, and grandmother, Ella, in a beautiful spot in the Park at @althorphouse," he added.
The post further highlighted Otis's beloved status within the Althorp community. "Everyone at Althorp loved Otis - several people here have talked today of his having been a 'total legend.' The place won’t be the same without his wise, sweet, intelligent presence. He was extremely special," Spencer expressed.
The bond between Harry and his uncle was underscored by the presence of Earl Spencer and his sister Lady Jane Fellowes at Harry's Invictus Games event at St Paul's Cathedral, showing solidarity with their nephew in the face of other senior royals' absence.
