Prince William Alters Royal Duties to Support Kate Middleton Amid Health Struggles

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, has made significant adjustments to his royal responsibilities in light of Kate Middleton's health challenges, including her battle with cancer.

In a bid to connect more deeply with the Welsh people, Prince William and Princess Kate are making notable changes to their team. According to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, the couple is seeking to hire a Welsh-speaking Private Secretary based at Kensington Palace to assist with Welsh affairs.

"William is a Prince of Wales with a difference," Bond told OK! Magazine. "No regalia, no ceremony, no grandeur – he clearly wants to engage directly with the community, aided by a Welsh speaker when appropriate."

Bond compared William’s approach to that of his father, King Charles, who immersed himself in Welsh culture by attending university in Wales and learning the language. She noted that William, due to his busy schedule, finds mastering Welsh a challenge but aims to connect with the community through other means, such as staying in local B&Bs and renting out their properties in Wales instead of leaving them vacant.

Before Kate's cancer diagnosis, the couple frequently visited Wales, a practice that has since been significantly reduced. William’s adjustments to his role are seen as a way to support Kate while caring for their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
