Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly at odds over a significant decision regarding their eldest son, Prince George's education. The Princess of Wales, currently battling cancer, has expressed strong concerns about George's future schooling, drawing from her own negative experiences.
Sources claim that the royal couple is divided on whether Prince George should attend Eton College, the prestigious school attended by both William and his brother Harry. This choice marks a shift from the older generation's preference for the Scottish boarding school Gordonstoun. While William supports Eton for George, Kate is reportedly hesitant.
An insider told Touch Weekly that Kate has deep reservations about sending George to the elite boys' school due to her own traumatic experiences of being "horribly bullied" at her first boarding school. "Kate can't bear the thought of George suffering through that," the source explained.
Kate's early education began at Downe House, a girls' boarding school in Berkshire, which she found so unpleasant that she left mid-term. She later transferred to Marlborough College, a co-educational boarding school in Wiltshire, where she completed her schooling more comfortably.
The insider added, "Kate thinks sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy." The disagreement highlights the differing perspectives within the royal family as they navigate decisions that impact their children's future.
