Prince William took to the polo field today for the annual Royal Charity Polo Cup, showcasing his impressive skills at the Out-Sourcing Inc Royal Charity Polo Cup 2024 held at Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park. The event aimed to raise funds for various causes that both William and Kate are passionate about.
Arriving in navy chinos and a blue blazer, Prince William later changed into his polo gear to join the match. Though the Princess of Wales was absent due to her ongoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, she made a brief public appearance last month during Trooping the Colour.
Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate would not be attending the polo event to support her husband. Instead, William received encouragement from his cousin Peter Phillips, who attended the event with his new girlfriend, Harriet Sperling.
Last year, the Princess attended the same event, presenting her husband with a trophy and sharing a celebratory kiss. In a statement released last month, Kate shared that she was making good progress in her treatment but still faced challenges with "good days and bad days." There is speculation that Kate may attend the Wimbledon Championships finals this weekend in her role as patron of The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
Meanwhile, William is expected to travel to Germany to watch England compete against Spain in the Euro 2024 football final on Sunday in Berlin. This year marks the 13th time William has participated in the polo fixture, which is set to raise £1 million, bringing the total amount raised over the years to more than £13 million.
William's appearance at the polo match follows his recent apology for his croaky voice, which he explained during a speech about his mission to end homelessness, delivered the morning after the England men's football team reached the Euro 2024 final.
