Prince William Reignites Long-Standing Feud with Prince Andrew
Prince William is believed to have played a key role in King Charles' decision to evict Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge, driven by a long-standing grudge.
Royal commentator Richard Kay, writing for the Daily Mail, suggested that the Prince of Wales pressured the 75-year-old monarch to take a firmer stance against his disgraced brother.
William has clashed with Andrew over his unwelcoming attitude towards Kate Middleton during the early days of their relationship. "Differences between monarch and heir remain, especially regarding the Prince Andrew scandal," Kay wrote.
"William has long harbored a grudge against Andrew for his unwelcoming behavior when he first introduced Kate Middleton to the Royal Family. He feels that his father has been too lenient with Andrew," Kay explained. "There is speculation that William is urging his father to evict the Duke of York from Royal Lodge to make way for the Waleses."
Prince Andrew lost his working royal status and military titles after a controversial BBC Newsnight interview highlighted his connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince William is said to have been a driving force in removing Andrew from his office at Buckingham Palace and ensuring he remains excluded from official royal functions. Now, King Charles has ordered his younger brother to vacate Royal Lodge in favor of Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Despite the King's demand, Andrew is reluctant to leave the 30-room mansion, citing the 75-year lease he signed following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
