The Princess of Wales stepped back from public engagements due to cancer treatment.
Prince William is reportedly finding public life challenging without Princess Kate as he focuses on their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, according to a royal commentator.
In January, Princess Kate stepped back from public engagements after undergoing significant abdominal surgery at The London Clinic. Two months later, the 42-year-old announced that she had begun preventative chemotherapy.
As a result, Prince William, also 42, has had to undertake numerous solo engagements that he would typically attend with Princess Kate.
A royal commentator noted, "At the moment, we are seeing the Prince of Wales perform his public duties in an exemplary manner. There's a huge amount of public approval for how he's handled them. However, it's undoubtedly emotionally difficult to be without his wife in public, as they often perform together, and to deal with the emotional strain of having a loved one with cancer."
Despite the emotional toll, Prince William has continued to fulfill his roles with poise. "We've seen the Prince of Wales perform as a devoted father with the children, such as attending the Taylor Swift concert, putting the children first. He's also conducted himself with eloquence, confidence, and dignity at public events. Yet, this could still be someone dealing privately with strong emotions."
Public approval for Prince William remains high, with many recognizing the challenging circumstances under which he is operating.
Today, Prince William is traveling to Germany to watch England play against Switzerland in the Euros quarter-final match. Reports suggest that Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 9, will accompany him, while Prince Louis, 6, is likely to stay at Adelaide Cottage with Kate, as he did during the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium last month.
