Princess Anne Resumes Royal Duties with Second Public Engagement After Head Injury

Princess Anne, having recently sustained a head injury, made her second public appearance as recorded in the Court Circular. This official record details the engagements of Royal Family members.

On Wednesday, July 17, the Princess Royal attended her second engagement since her hospitalization for minor head injuries, which kept her in the hospital for five nights. The Court Circular noted: "The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, Intelligence Corps, this afternoon visited 4 Military Intelligence Battalion at Bulford Barracks, Salisbury, Wiltshire."

This visit occurred just five days after her appearance at the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships in Gloucester, signaling her return to official duties.

Originally scheduled to attend the funeral of the Earl of Rosebery and Midlothian on the same day, Princess Anne was represented by her Lady in Waiting, Mrs. Charles Ritchie, as she traveled to Wiltshire for her engagement.

The 73-year-old's latest outing was a little over an hour's drive from her residence at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire.

A statement from Buckingham Palace on June 24 provided details of Anne's injury: "The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery. The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the Princess for a speedy recovery."

Following medical advice, Princess Anne's engagements were initially canceled until further notice. She resumed her duties on July 12.
