Royal commentator Charles Rae, speaking on GB News, emphasized the seriousness of Princess Anne's recent horse accident, stating it could have had far worse outcomes. Anne, 73, returned to public engagements after a five-night hospital stay following the incident on June 23, where she was reportedly struck by a horse while walking.
Anne was observed attending the Riding for the Disabled Association National Championships at Hartpury University and Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, marking her initial return to public responsibilities amid ongoing recovery. Visible bruises on her face underscored the incident's potential severity.
"It was heartening to see Anne out and about, despite her visibly bruised face," Rae remarked. "The injury must have been significant."
Rae pointed out the danger of the incident, noting, "The fact that she experienced memory loss indicates its severity. It could have been much worse."
The Prince and Princess of Wales showed support for Anne's return, with William and Kate retweeting photos from the official royal family account and adding a personal message: "Super trooper! So great to see you back so soon! W & C x."
