Princess Kate once made a heartfelt confession about raising her eldest, Prince George, with the late Queen Elizabeth, expressing her desire to be a 'hands-on parent.'
As reported by Express.co.uk, Catherine initially felt uncomfortable hiring a full-time nanny for George. In the documentary Kate Middleton: Heir We Go Again, royal commentator Katie Nicholl shared Kate's conversation about motherhood.
"Kate confided in the Queen that she found it very hard being with George on her own without a full-time nanny or maternity nurse," Nicholl said. "William and Kate wanted to be hands-on parents, and they managed until September before recruiting a nanny."
Parenting writer Kelly Rose Bradford noted that despite their good intentions, Kate and William soon realized they couldn't balance their royal duties and full-time childcare.
Prince William and Princess Kate welcomed George in 2013 and are currently training him for his future role as king of England.
