Queen Camilla made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon, just a day after Princess Beatrice attended the tennis tournament, sparking concern among fans about Kate Middleton's silence regarding her own appearance at the event.
The 76-year-old Queen attended the Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on July 10. She arrived with Debbie Jevans, chair of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, and met with individuals on the Players' Lawn, including a young ball boy and girl, Yug and Natalia.
This role has been a part of Wimbledon for around 100 years, with about 250 young people working at the championships each year. Queen Camilla also chatted with British tennis stars Jamie Delgado and Laura Robson, as well as Martyn Falconer, Head Gardener at the All England Club.
Ahead of the quarterfinal clashes, Zara and Mike Tindall, along with Carole and Michael Middleton, also attended Wimbledon. This follows Princess Beatrice, who was seen watching the action with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on day nine.
Speculation is growing over whether Princess Kate will present the winners' trophies this weekend. Kensington Palace has not issued any information regarding the Princess of Wales's attendance at the tennis finals. Kate's absence has left fans worried as they await an announcement from the palace about her decision to attend the event.
It is hoped that Kate will be well enough to make an appearance, but with her ongoing cancer treatment, it remains unclear. Kate, who last appeared at Trooping the Colour on June 15, is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and a regular at the sporting event but has been staying out of the spotlight as she continues her treatment.
