In a timely move, King Charles' office at Buckingham Palace has shared
an inspiring update ahead of Prince Harry’s much-anticipated interview.
The
Palace announced the flagbearers for the British team at the Paris 2024
Olympic Games.
The official royal family account posted a series of
photos featuring Princess Anne, Britain's International Olympic Committee
(IOC) member, joining the British team to boost their morale as the opening
ceremony approaches on Friday.
“Ahead of the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, The Princess Royal has joined a reception with @teamgb at the British Embassy in Paris,” the statement read.
“During the reception, Olympic gold medalists @helenglovergb and @tomdaley were announced as Team GB’s flag bearers for the opening ceremony.”
Princess Anne holds a significant connection to the Olympics, being the first royal family member to compete in the event. She rode The Queen's horse, Goodwill, in the equestrian three-day event at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.
This announcement comes just before the release of the ITV documentary "Tabloids On Trial," which airs Thursday. The promo hints at Prince Harry discussing the rift with his family, largely attributed to his “determination to fight the tabloid press.”
