Security Measures for Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall Amid Harry and Meghan's Concerns

Despite Harry and Meghan’s security concerns, King Charles’ nieces, Zara Tindall and Princess Beatrice, relied on standard security protocols during their recent public appearances, a royal commentator revealed.

The two nieces of King Charles attended different days at Wimbledon this month with their respective husbands. Zara, 43, and Beatrice, 35, were present in a personal capacity since neither holds an official working role within the Royal Family.

Contrastingly, Queen Camilla received taxpayer-funded security from the Metropolitan Police during her visit to Wimbledon due to her status as a senior working royal.

Royal commentator Gareth Russell told GB News about the security measures in place for Zara and Beatrice during their visit to SW19. “It's important to remember that large events like Wimbledon have built-in security measures,” he said. “Such events can be targets, not just for royals like Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall, but also for numerous celebrities.”

He added, “While the constitutional significance differs, both royals and celebrities often face threats from stalkers or those who wish them harm. Therefore, these events are always well-secured.”

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties, they have occasionally visited the UK together, though Harry has made more solo trips. According to a royal expert, Meghan is unlikely to accompany Harry on future trips to the UK due to specific concerns.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have relinquished several royal privileges, including royal patronages and their Windsor residence, Frogmore Cottage. One of their most significant losses has been taxpayer-funded police security, which has posed challenges for Meghan’s visits to the UK.

Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, told OK! Magazine that Meghan’s absence during Harry’s recent trip to celebrate ten years of the Invictus Games was likely due to security concerns. “I think it's pretty unlikely that Meghan will join him at the service given Harry's concerns about safety,” Bond explained.
