Duchess of Sussex May Receive Birthday Surprise from King Charles
Meghan Markle, who celebrated her 43rd birthday on Sunday, 4 August, might receive a surprise from the royal family.
Despite the ongoing tensions between the Sussexes and the Windsors, there is a possibility that Meghan could be privately treated to a gift and birthday greetings, according to former royal butler Grant Harrold. Harrold told the New York Post, "I think the King and Queen will send their birthday wishes, they will rise above everything that has happened because, at the end of the day, they are still family."
However, he emphasised that such a gesture does not necessarily signal reconciliation. "I don’t think that will change certainly despite everything that’s happened," he said.
Regarding a potential special delivery from the palace, Harrold, who worked as King Charles’s butler for seven years, suggested that it is not an unlikely scenario. "They may send a gift as well, but given everything that has happened, there might not be," he noted. "If they were all still getting on, I can imagine it would be a piece of jewellery or something from the royal collection, possibly a hand-me-down from the late Queen."
Currently, King Charles is reportedly not responding to calls or messages from Prince Harry. It remains to be seen if Charles will reconsider his stance for his daughter-in-law's birthday.
