Meghan Markle May Channel Princess Kate’s Iconic Style on Colombian Tour
Meghan Markle is anticipated to echo Princess Kate’s bold statement style during her upcoming Colombian tour, according to insights from style experts shared with GB News.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to Colombia by Vice President Francia Márquez, and experts suggest that Meghan’s jewellery choices could be inspired by Princess Kate.
Eddie Le Vian, CEO of celebrity jewellery brand Le Vian, shared his predictions, noting that Meghan might opt for yellow gold pieces, which she has recently favoured, as seen in her bracelet stack during her Nigeria visit earlier this year. “A pair of bold statement gold earrings may also find their way into her jewellery box,” Le Vian added.
Princess Kate, 42, recently showcased her preference for bold jewellery by wearing £400 gold hoop earrings by By Pariah during an outing to Wimbledon.
Le Vian also noted that Meghan’s previous royal tours, such as her 2019 visit to Australia, featured leaf-shaped earrings, and in Nigeria earlier this year, she wore gold hammered disc earrings. He predicted that “bold gold” will be a significant trend in 2025. Additionally, Meghan might incorporate Colombian emeralds, known for their vivid green hue, into her wardrobe, especially as emeralds are her son Prince Archie’s birthstone.
Tobias Kormind, managing director of 77 Diamonds, Europe’s largest online diamond jeweller, also offered his thoughts on what Meghan might wear in Colombia. He anticipates a blend of delicate, versatile jewels, sentimental pieces, and a nod to local craftsmanship. “Dainty, versatile diamond jewels are a go-to for Meghan on tours,” Kormind said, highlighting her previous choices of diamond jewellery during visits to Nigeria and Australia.
Kormind also expects Meghan to include sentimental jewels, such as Princess Diana’s diamond cross necklace, which she wore in Nigeria, and her famous Aquamarine cocktail ring seen in Australia. He further speculated that Meghan might pay tribute to local Colombian culture by wearing pieces from local artisans, similar to her choice of a traditional Nigerian coral necklace during her visit, or the cedar wood pendant necklace she wore in Morocco.
