Kate Middleton and Prince William Face Setback as Harry and Meghan Steal the Spotlight

Sussexes Celebrate Major Win After High-Profile Colombia Tour

Prince William and Kate Middleton have encountered a fresh setback as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to outshine them following their successful tour in Colombia.

Garry Toffoli, Executive Director of the Canadian Royal Heritage Trust, claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now more beloved by the public than the Prince and Princess of Wales, as reported by The Express. He noted that Harry and Meghan "have maintained a closer connection to Canada" than the future King and Queen of England.

Reflecting on the couple’s departure from the royal family in 2020, Toffoli highlighted that many Canadians remember the controversy that arose when the Palace blocked Harry and Meghan from living in Canada with royal security while performing part-time royal duties. The Sussexes initially resided in Canada before relocating to the U.S. in March 2020.

Toffoli added, "The overwhelming majority of Canadians supported the Sussexes' plans at the time. In one poll in early 2020, over 60 percent wanted Prince Harry to become the next Governor General of Canada."

These remarks come after Harry and Meghan’s headline-making tours in Nigeria and Colombia, which have drawn significant media attention. Many royal fans believe that the Sussexes' rising popularity has overshadowed William and Kate, particularly as the Prince and Princess of Wales deal with ongoing health concerns.
