King Charles and Queen Camilla Arrive at Balmoral Amid Strict New Social Media Ban

This year at Balmoral, the Royal Family has introduced a strict rule for younger members: a complete ban on mobile phones and photographs during family events.

Express.co.uk reports that the guest list has expanded to include many teenagers, prompting the palace to enforce stricter privacy measures. A source disclosed that there's been a direct instruction to avoid social media posts and photos during the private family holiday.

"It's a private family gathering, and with more extended family members attending this year, they want to keep everything as discreet as possible," the source said.

The new rule aims to prevent any potentially awkward or unflattering moments—such as a viral photo of King Charles having a mishap at the dinner table—from surfacing online.

With a larger family presence, the palace is determined to maintain the exclusive and intimate atmosphere of the royal retreat.

Official social media channels remain unaffected, as any content shared through these platforms is carefully vetted and approved by the royal communications team.

This year, Queen Camilla’s children and grandchildren will join the Royal Family at Balmoral. Her children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, along with their families, will stay in the main castle, typically reserved for guest accommodations.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will also be part of the royal gathering, accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.
