King Charles Approves Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Colombia Visit

Royal Endorsement Paves the Way for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Philanthropic Mission

In a move signalling reconciliation, King Charles is reportedly taking steps to reintegrate his estranged son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle into the royal fold. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped back from their senior royal roles in 2020 to pursue a new life, are planning a visit to Colombia as part of their commitment to global philanthropy through the Archewell Foundation.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold suggests that this tour likely received approval from the Palace or King Charles himself. Harrold told Express.co.uk, “It will be good to know if this has been sanctioned by the Palace or if Harry had a conversation with his father asking if he can do this.”

Harrold continued, “I just can’t see them doing it without some sort of approval because this would upset the monarchy if they do it off their own back, and I think there could be repercussions if they haven't been given permission by the royal household.”

He further explained that if Harry and Meghan carry out a tour with royal endorsement, it implies they are “acting as working royals.” This could indicate their potential return to royal duties.

Earlier this year, the couple’s visit to Nigeria in relation to the Invictus Games sparked controversy among royal watchers, who labelled it a ‘faux royal’ tour. However, the upcoming Colombian tour, backed by royal approval, might mark a new chapter in their relationship with the royal family.
