New Rules Aim to Provide Peaceful Vacation Amid Health Concerns
As King Charles and Queen Camilla host their annual summer retreat at Balmoral, a new privacy rule has been introduced to ensure a tranquil environment for the royal family. With ongoing health issues affecting both Kate Middleton and King Charles, the monarch has mandated a complete ban on social media, cell phones, and photography during their stay.
A palace insider disclosed to Express.co.uk that the royal family has been instructed to refrain from posting on social media or sharing photos from the vacation. “There has been a gentle reminder that social media posts and photos from family events are to be avoided,” the source explained. “It’s a private family holiday, and with extended family members joining this year, they are trying to keep everything as private as possible.”
This policy is designed to shield Kate Middleton, who is currently battling cancer, from public scrutiny and to provide King Charles with some much-needed privacy as he too faces health challenges. The insider added, “There are a lot of teenagers in attendance, and there would be nothing worse than seeing a photo of King Charles trying to force a potato into his mouth on social media.”
In addition to Prince William, Kate, and their three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—the holiday will include several younger royals. Prince Edward and Sophie’s children, Lady Louise Windsor, 19, and James, Earl of Wessex, 16, will join, as well as Peter Phillips and his ex-wife, Autumn Kelly, with their daughters Savannah, 13, and Isla, 12. Mike and Zara Tindall will bring their children—daughters Mia, 10, and Lena, 6, and son Lucas, 3—although they might depart early due to Zara’s other commitments.
