Reflects on Collaborative Experience with the Royal Trio Before Stepping Down
Meghan Markle offered praise for Kate Middleton and Prince William during a notable royal event, sharing positive reflections on working closely with them.
Before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle transitioned from their roles as senior working royals to start a new chapter in the United States, they frequently collaborated with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
In March 2018, just two months before their wedding, Harry and Meghan joined William and Kate at an event focused on the Royal Foundation—a charity established by William and Harry.
Both Meghan and Kate later became involved in the charity’s initiatives, contributing to its ongoing success. Meghan candidly discussed her experience working alongside the three royals, noting their distinct personalities but emphasising their strong communication.
"Thank goodness it's such differing personalities and that everyone's very communicative because that's how you can really see bigger change," Meghan remarked.
She appreciated the unique approaches of each royal, commending the diversity of thought and suggesting that these differences were key to driving progress.
"If everyone's thinking the same way, how are you going to push the envelope? You know, how are you really going to break through in a different sort of mindset?" she added.
Meghan highlighted the importance of changing mindsets through open communication, crediting this dynamic for the success of initiatives like Heads Together and expressing optimism about future projects.
Since moving to the US, the relationship between the Prince brothers and their spouses has been strained. One of the last joint appearances of the two couples occurred after the passing of the late Queen, when they viewed tributes at Windsor Castle and interacted with mourners.
The Queen’s death was followed by the release of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries, which included significant criticisms of both Prince William and King Charles, adding further tension to the family dynamic.
