Prince Andrew Challenges King Charles with New Security Strategy After Funding Cut

Duke of York Takes Action as King Ends Support for Private Protection Team

Prince Andrew is actively seeking alternative security measures after King Charles decided to discontinue the Duke's private security team, insiders have revealed.

Despite the King’s decision to stop funding the 10-member security detail at Royal Lodge, the 64-year-old Duke of York is determined to remain at his residence. King Charles has ensured that no taxpayer money will be used for Andrew's security expenses once the private team departs in October.

To address the rising costs, Prince Andrew is reportedly planning to employ a "mobile security" team that will maintain round-the-clock protection for his property while he explores long-term solutions. The new arrangement is designed to be more cost-effective, avoiding the use of public funds.

Sources indicate that while the Windsor estate has a continuous police presence due to other royal residences in the area, Andrew's mobile team will provide added security. The Duke, who has declined an offer to move to Frogmore Cottage, remains committed to his 30-bedroom Windsor estate under a long-term lease with the Crown Estate, which includes specific upkeep responsibilities.

This move marks a significant point of contention between Prince Andrew and King Charles, as the Duke seeks to secure his position at Royal Lodge despite the funding cuts.
