Prince Andrew Firm on Securing Royal Lodge Rights for Daughters Beatrice and Eugenie

Princess Beatrice and Eugenie Positioned as Future Owners of Royal Lodge

Prince Andrew, who resides at Royal Lodge with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson under a 75-year lease agreement with the Crown Estate, is reportedly concerned about safeguarding the future rights of his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, within the royal family.

Robin Edwards, a buying agent at Curetons Property Finders, discussed with GB News how the Royal Lodge would be managed between Andrew’s daughters. According to Edwards, the Duke of York is steadfast in ensuring his daughters’ rights remain protected.

“According to the leasehold agreement from the National Audit Office (NAO), in the event of Prince Andrew’s death, the lease for Royal Lodge can only be transferred to his widow, his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, or a trust established solely for their benefit,” Edwards explained. He added that while Princess Beatrice is the elder sister, this does not grant her any additional rights to inherit the lease over her younger sister.

Currently, Princess Beatrice resides in an apartment at St James’s Palace with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, while Princess Eugenie splits her time between Portugal and the UK with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. Neither Beatrice nor Eugenie are working members of the royal family, making it unlikely that they would step into more prominent royal roles, preferring instead to maintain their private lives and careers.
