Prince Andrew Prioritises Mental Health Amid Ongoing Dispute with King Charles

The Duke of York Embraces an Unusual Hobby While Standing Firm on His Royal Lodge Residence

Prince Andrew has made it clear that he will not compromise on his mental health during his ongoing conflict with King Charles over the Royal Lodge.

The Duke of York, who has refused to vacate the £30 million Windsor mansion, has reportedly found solace in an unexpected new hobby. Despite King Charles' repeated attempts to relocate him to the nearby Frogmore Cottage, Prince Andrew remains adamant about staying in the Royal Lodge for the remaining 55 years of his lease.

In addition to horse riding and playing golf, the 64-year-old Prince has recently developed an interest in monitoring live global air traffic, an unconventional pastime that has raised eyebrows. According to royal correspondent Richard Kay, Andrew’s fascination with tracking flights is reminiscent of his days as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War.

As Prince Andrew continues to resist moving out, he faces mounting financial pressures. He is responsible for covering the maintenance costs of the 19th-century estate, including a £200,000 roof repair, relying solely on his Royal Navy pension and a £1 million annual royal allowance.

Amid these challenges, speculation grows that King Charles may take drastic measures, such as cutting off utilities, to force Andrew to vacate the property, which the King reportedly wants to offer to Prince William and Catherine. Currently, Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, live in separate wings of the Royal Lodge, located near Windsor Castle.
