Prince George to Follow in William and Harry’s Footsteps to Eton?

Prince George Will Remain at Lambrook School This September

Despite turning 11 this summer, Prince George will continue at Lambrook School in Berkshire rather than transitioning to secondary school this September. Lambrook accommodates students until Year Eight, giving George two more years at his current school alongside Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Speculation surrounds George’s future schooling, with Eton College in Windsor emerging as a strong contender. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, suggests that the Prince and Princess of Wales have considered Eton, where both Prince William and Prince Harry were educated.

Seward noted, “The Waleses have the advantage of time and choice when it comes to selecting a school. Although Kate might prefer George not to board, Eton’s proximity makes it a likely option.”

Eton’s location offers logistical advantages, with George remaining close to his younger siblings and the family’s residence. Additionally, sending George to Eton could extend their existing security arrangements from Lambrook.

While the Waleses have also explored Marlborough College and St Edward’s School in Oxford, Seward emphasises that the royal family has a wealth of options and no institution would decline their application. However, George will need to pass entrance exams to secure a place at any private school.
