Chief of Staff Resigns Just Before Sussexes’ Colombia Tour, Heightening Concerns
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare for their upcoming tour of Colombia, they have encountered a significant security setback that adds to their existing concerns.
The Sussexes were dealt a major blow when their Chief of Staff, Josh Kettler, resigned after only three months in the role. Kettler, who had accompanied the couple on several crucial international visits, including their tour of Nigeria, unexpectedly stepped down despite the looming challenges of the Colombia trip.
Royal commentator Charles Rae highlighted the potential dangers the couple might face, especially with the loss of such a key team member. “Kettler was crucial for guiding them through potential ‘booby traps’ and ensuring everything ran smoothly,” Rae explained. “With him gone, the question arises—who will step into the breach?”
This resignation is part of a broader pattern of high staff turnover for the Sussexes, with Meghan reportedly finding it difficult to secure trusted personnel for key roles. Since their marriage, approximately 18 to 20 employees have left their service, a situation that persists even after their move to California.
People Magazine reported that Kettler’s departure was a mutual decision following the end of his trial contract. However, with the Colombia tour fast approaching, it remains uncertain who will take over his crucial responsibilities.
