Sussexes Leverage Publicity Tactics to Gain Attention Amidst Royal Absence
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been employing a calculated strategy to outshine the senior members of the royal family, especially as they remain out of the public eye.
King Charles and Kate Middleton are currently undergoing cancer treatment, leaving the monarchy in a vulnerable position.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been making headlines with their international tours. Most recently, the couple garnered attention during their visit to Nigeria.
The Sussexes are now preparing for their next journey, scheduled to commence next week in Colombia.
Discussing the couple’s new approach, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun, "Their current strategy is generating significant publicity, and the Royal Family is unlikely to match it in any foreseeable way."
Fitzwilliams added, "In recent weeks, Harry and Meghan have shown no hesitation in bringing up topics that could embarrass the Royal Family or highlight existing rifts."
He further noted that key members of the royal family are unable to openly criticise the Sussexes, as doing so could cast the monarchy in a negative light.
"What this strategy will do is shift attention towards the Sussexes and away from the Royal Family, potentially leaving the monarchy in a less favourable position due to the ongoing deep rift," Fitzwilliams concluded.
