Duke of Sussex Organises Intimate Gathering with Family and Friends
Prince Harry is making detailed plans to ensure that his wife Meghan Markle's 43rd birthday is a memorable occasion, with a carefully organised celebration.
The Duchess of Sussex, who will celebrate her birthday on Sunday, 4 August, will be surrounded by loved ones as Prince Harry ensures she feels "celebrated," according to former royal butler Grant Harrold.
Harrold shared with the New York Post that Harry might host an at-home cookout for Meghan and their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. "He is a gentleman and a good cook," Harrold remarked. "He is quite old-fashioned like that."
"They may have a party; they do enjoy summer barbecues outdoors, so they might invite friends around for a dinner or a barbecue," he added.
Despite a brief moment of reconciliation during Harry's visit to his cancer-stricken father in February, the Sussexes and the royal family remain on tense terms. The monarch is reportedly not taking Harry's calls or responding to his messages and letters.
Harrold, who worked as King Charles's butler for seven years, mentioned that while the rift persists, there is hope that Meghan will receive birthday wishes from Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, he suggested that public birthday wishes are unlikely given the current tensions between the Sussexes and the Windsors.
