King Charles Urges Deeper Engagement in Wales to Strengthen Roles
King Charles has assigned Prince William and Kate Middleton a crucial task to fortify their royal titles by enhancing their involvement in Wales.
Royal commentators on GB News have highlighted the importance of the future King and Queen of England taking their roles as Prince and Princess of Wales more seriously. Royal expert Cameron Walker mentioned that William and Kate are reportedly hiring a new assistant private secretary to manage their Welsh engagements and activities.
James Evans explained, “This isn't actually a new role. It was a role that the previous Prince of Wales, our now King, had.” He continued, "It is very, very positive that the Waleses have decided to bring this role back because there has been a little bit of criticism that they haven't spent enough time in Wales and haven't really given the role probably the credit it deserves."
Evans praised William and Catherine for their renewed focus on their titles. He observed that the Welsh public desires more visibility from the couple, citing the example of the Monarch, who was the "longest Prince of Wales in history" and invested significantly in Wales.
Furthermore, Evans noted that anti-monarchists advocate for the abolition of the title, as they do not view William and Kate as having legitimate rights to it. "They've got an awful lot of work to do to actually re-garner that support that the King had here within Wales," Evans stated.
