Royal Couple Extend Condolences to Bereaved Family

Prince William and Kate Middleton recently received heartbreaking news about a close acquaintance who had played a significant role during one of their royal engagements.

The Prince and Princess of Wales took the time to write a heartfelt note to express their condolences to the grieving family.

Peter Morris, a 47-year-old father of two, passed away from cancer in May, just weeks after Kate revealed her own health concerns.

The royal couple had first encountered Peter in April of the previous year when they purchased 12 pizzas from his food truck in Ebbw Vale, South Wales, to provide for the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team during their visit to Dowlais Rugby Club, Merthyr Tydfil, as reported by The Sun.

In the letter, William wrote, “We can only begin to imagine the immense void he will leave in your life, and my heart goes out to you and your family.”

He added, “Catherine and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Pete. It is clear from the community's response to his passing that Pete was a highly dedicated and valued member.”

William concluded the message with, “I wanted you to know just how much you and your family are in our thoughts during this time.”

Peter’s widow, Tracey, shared with The Sun that the letter was a “massive surprise” but acknowledged that her husband’s death “may have resonated with them because Kate is currently undergoing treatment.”
