William Compelled to Accept King Charles' Decision Amid Ongoing Tensions with Harry
Prince William has had to adhere to a crucial directive from his father, King Charles, concerning his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
Once close, the brothers are now reportedly not on speaking terms, though they have maintained a truce for the sake of the royal family. Tensions between King Charles’ sons had been escalating, but there was a brief ceasefire in September 2022 to honour their late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
According to a well-placed source quoted by the Daily Mail, William sent a last-minute text to Prince Harry, inviting him and Meghan to join him and Kate on the Long Walk in Windsor. This invitation led to the couples appearing together to view the floral tributes left for the late Queen.
The source noted, "It happened very quickly – remarkable really considering they didn’t see each other in Scotland." While some believed that William extended the olive branch himself, the source clarified that it was "absolutely not the case," and that the gesture was made under King Charles' direction.
Despite this, the relationship between King Charles and his younger son seems more strained than ever, even after the Duke of Sussex visited his father, who was battling cancer, in February of this year. Recent reports suggest that Prince Harry's calls are going unanswered, as his father avoids communication with him.
