Princess Anne and Princess Charlotte are reportedly forming a close bond as they assume vital roles in the future of the royal family.
The Princess Royal has taken the young Charlotte, the only daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, under her wing to train her as a "Standby Queen." However, some aspects of Anne's training methods have raised eyebrows within the palace, according to a source speaking to Woman’s Day Magazine.
The insider revealed that Anne is "inadvertently" sharing "some juicy gossip on the family" with Charlotte, discussing some of the biggest royal faux pas, such as her uncle Prince Harry's controversial Nazi uniform incident and Princess Beatrice's memorable fascinator at her parents' wedding.
While there are concerns at the palace about Anne discussing these matters with a nine-year-old, Kate is reportedly confident in her daughter's training.
According to the insider, Kate and William are "thrilled" with Anne's mentorship, believing there is no better role model than the Princess Royal, who is celebrated for her work ethic and unwavering support for the King.
Kate also hopes that Charlotte will benefit from the same "candid tough love" when she officially joins the royal family.
Describing the bond between the Princess Royal and the future Princess Royal, the source said, "They're talking ALL the time about everything and anything."
The source added, "Women's football, sailing, horses, ballet, fashion, manners... Essentially, she's foolproofing Charlotte into becoming the perfect princess and standby queen."
