Princess Eugenie Shares Rare Insights into Royal Family's Balmoral Retreat

King Charles and Queen Camilla Begin Summer Holidays in Scotland

Princess Eugenie has offered a rare glimpse into the royal family's summer holidays at Balmoral. In a 2016 interview featured in the ITV documentary Our Queen at Ninety, the Princess of York fondly recalled her time spent with the late Queen Elizabeth in Scotland.

"It's the most beautiful place on earth. I think Granny is the most happy there. I think she really, really loves the Highlands," Eugenie shared. She continued, "Walks, picnics, dogs—a lot of dogs, there's always dogs—and people coming in and out all the time."

Eugenie also described Balmoral as "a lovely base for Granny and Grandpa, for us to come and see them up there; where you just have room to breathe and run," emphasizing the sense of freedom and joy the location brings to the family.

Recent reports indicate that King Charles has arrived at Balmoral with Queen Camilla, and more members of the royal family are expected to join the summer celebrations in the coming days.

Additionally, it is reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will head to Scotland next week to join the festivities at Balmoral.
