Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have returned to the spotlight, sparking reactions as senior royal members scale back their duties due to health concerns. According to a royal expert, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are allegedly planning a move that could add to the worries of Prince William and King Charles, particularly amid the King’s focus on his wife’s cancer battle.
Royal biographer Angela Levin claims that the couple’s upcoming visit to Colombia could risk "infuriating" the future King and "upsetting" the current monarch. This trip marks their second official tour of the year, following their visit to Nigeria in May, where they engaged in various activities over three days.
Their international tours have drawn criticism, with many labeling them as “quasi-royal” since the couple is no longer active members of the Royal Family. Levin noted that their actions are becoming a "headache" for the Firm, stating, "They aren’t representing the royals, but they are trying to. Unless they break themselves away completely, they don’t have the right to do this. It will be very annoying for the King and infuriating for William."
Levin also highlighted the potential double standards within the Royal Family, pointing out that Sophie Wessex had previously met with the same Colombian vice president that Meghan plans to meet, without causing a stir. Despite the dangers, Levin suggests that the Sussexes are determined to proceed with their plans.
