Prince Harry Faces Setback as Rumors of Reconciliation with King Charles Falter
Prince Harry's hopes for potential peace talks with King Charles have taken a blow, as a renowned royal author suggests that his departure from the royal family may be seen as beneficial by key royal figures.
During a discussion on The Times royal podcast The Royals with Roya and Kate, royal expert Hugo Vickers suggested that the royal family might consider sacrificing the Duke of Sussex to maintain their "image of unity."
When asked about the strategies the royals employ to "ensure their survival," Vickers acknowledged the difficulty and explained that the Firm occasionally has to "cut off a head" within the family to preserve the monarchy’s stability—implying that Prince Harry could be one of those "heads."
Drawing on historical context, Vickers referenced Tommy Lascelles, the private secretary during the abdication of George VI and the early years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, who once compared the monarchy to a rosebush that requires pruning to thrive. "Prince Harry may indeed be one of those heads," Vickers remarked.
These comments come shortly after reports that King Charles expressed a desire to heal the rift with his son, following guidance from spiritual advisors. However, the recent revelations suggest that any reconciliation might be more challenging than anticipated.
