New Poll Highlights Dramatic Drop in Popularity Since Departure from Royal Family
The Duke of Sussex has experienced a significant fall in popularity in the UK following his decision to step away from the Royal Family, according to a new poll.
Research by Statista, released earlier this month, shows a sharp decline in the public's perception of him since his exit in early 2020.
Back in October 2019, before his departure, 71% of the British public held a favourable view of the Duke, while only 22% were unfavourable.
Fast forward to August of this year, and the situation has dramatically reversed. Now, only 30% of the public has a positive opinion of him, while 60% view him unfavourably.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward attributes this shift to the Duke's controversial revelations regarding his family. In an interview with The Sun, she explained, "What people really dislike is that he criticised his family. His memoir Spare may have brought him financial success, but it appears he's paying a lasting price for it."
