PR Missteps, Not Character, Behind Sussexes’ Decline in Public Favor
A PR expert has offered insight into why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced a decline in public popularity, attributing their struggles to poor communication and branding rather than personal shortcomings.
Edward Coram-James of GoUp explained to Express.co.uk that the couple’s dip in public favor is due to past public relations missteps. “To be fair to the Sussexes, they seem to have learned from their PR mistakes and appear to have turned the page,” he noted.
Coram-James emphasized that the couple’s unpopularity is not a reflection of their character but rather the result of a flawed PR strategy. “For all we know, the Sussexes could be kind, caring, and incredible people,” he said, suggesting that their poor management of public relations has unfairly shaped their current image.
“It’s just that they had a bad PR plan,” he concluded, underscoring the importance of effective communication for public figures. “When PR goes wrong, the public can, fairly or unfairly, decide it makes you a bad person. When it goes right, it can make you seem like a good person.”
Despite the challenges, Prince Harry continues to resonate with younger audiences, maintaining support among younger generations even as their overall image struggles with older demographics.
