Harry’s Humble Response to Royal Aide's Mistake Resurfaces

Duke of Sussex’s Three-Word Reply to Informal Text Gains Attention

Harry and the Duchess of Sussex have faced ongoing scrutiny following reports of alleged mistreatment of staff. While opinions remain divided, with some former employees praising the couple, two ex-royal aides recently shared an incident involving a casual blunder by an aide at Kensington Palace.

In his book Courtiers, author Valentine Low recounts how Harry’s press secretary, Ed Perkins, made an error by sending an informal text to Harry that read, "Hello mate." Realising the mistake, Perkins apologised, saying, "So sorry, just called you mate. I didn’t mean to." To his relief, Harry responded kindly, writing, "Please don’t worry."

Another former aide, Nick Loughran, revealed that he often spoke casually with Harry, addressing him by his first name, though he maintained a more formal approach with Harry’s brother, the Prince of Wales.

This story surfaces amid allegations of staff bullying, particularly directed at Meghan, with some former staff labelling her with critical nicknames. However, Harry has been described as both "charming" and an "enabler." Neither the Duke nor Duchess of Sussex has publicly addressed the claims.
